Ginny Namjoon

I am a proud fat, queer, disabled, autistic individual who loves using makeup, clothing, accessories, and my hair to express myself. My style blends elder goth with a touch of emo. Over the past year, I’ve enjoyed growing an online community and getting involved in studio shoots and catwalks, most recently working with Bravissimo, Molke, and Topsy Curvy.
 
Disability pride means everything to me. I became disabled four years ago after a fall down the stairs. At the time, I was training for a half marathon, and now I rely on a walking stick and wheelchair to help me get around. This change has been the most mentally challenging experience of my life. Accepting my new limitations has been an incredibly painful journey — and, to be honest, it’s still a road I’m very much travelling.
 
Events like these remind people like me that while we may face obstacles in certain areas of life, it doesn’t mean we have to stop living. We deserve to be seen. We deserve to be represented. We matter.
